DIY Fruit Infused Water
At Wedding Snap, we’re feeling the heat of summer and we know that it’s all about staying hydrated during the crazy hot months. With the temptation of soda and other sugary drinks on the loose, we know it’s tough to resist, but why not just combine two oh so healthy must-haves for the summer? Today, we’re going to show you how to combine these ingredients to create a trendy and cost-effective drink for your wedding. In a few minutes or less, you can make delicious and healthy DIY Fruit Infused Vitamin Water.
1) First, grab your glass of choice.
We chose quart sized mason jars for a healthy serving and just because we’re oh so obsessed with mason jars (check out our post from yesterday on 7 Ways to Use Mason Jars at Your Wedding). You can easily find these on Amazon or in your local supermarket for about $1 a jar. The entire case of 12 jars cost about $11.99 on sale and was the perfect size for these adorable drinks.
2) Choose and slice your favorite fruit and herbs of choice. Place your combination of choice in each of the jars with ice.
Some popular choices we recommend include:
Herbs:
- Basil
- Mint
- Thyme
- Lavender
Fruits:
- Berries (Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, you get the picture)
- Citrus (Lemons, Limes, Oranges, etc)
- Cucumbers
- Watermelon
- Pineapple
I would recommend avoiding fruits such as bananas as they don’t necessarily release much flavor, but the list of fruits and herbs are endless! Preferably all fresh fruits and served cold for that refreshing feel!
We chose to make four different flavors:
Lemon/Blackberry/Blueberry
- 1/3 Lemon, Sliced
- handful of blackberries
- handful of blueberries
Strawberry, Orange, Lime, Mint
- 1 strawberry, sliced
- 1/3 orange, sliced
- 1/3 lime, sliced
- 1 Mint Leaf
Strawberry, Orange, Lemon, Blueberry
- 1 strawberry, sliced
- 1/3 orange, sliced
- 1/2 lemon, sliced
- handful of blueberries
Cucumber, Lime, Mint
- 1/3 of a cucumber, sliced
- 1/3 lime, sliced
- 1 mint leaf
3) Lastly, just fill each of the glasses with water to the top and you have a refreshing, healthy drink on a warm, summery wedding day!
Why not make pitchers or dispensers of your own Fruit Infused Water and have mason jars as their glasses for your wedding? Or if you decide to have individual pre-made fruit infused water jars, just add fun tags or provide labels that guests can sign to personalize. It’s super simple, delicious, and a great way to save some money, while keeping everyone hydrated!
My personal favorite was the strawberry, orange, lime and mint! What would your DIY Fruit Infused Water combination include? Tell us what your favorite flavor is!
